Teams on the rise include Ohio State, Auburn and Louisville. The Buckeyes had not lost in more than a month until being upset by Penn State on Wednesday. Auburn is alone on top of the SEC, after scoring impressive wins at Tennessee and Missouri, along with home wins versus Georgia and Arkansas. And speaking of impressive, the job that first-year man David Padgett is doing taking over for the ousted Rick Pitino at Louisville is amazing. The Cards sit have risen from a seed bubble team two weeks ago to a near lock for the Dance, barring a complete collapse.
They sit at in the ACC and each of those losses were on the road in overtime to Clemson and Miami. Hats off to the job Padgett has done with his team of overachievers.
The Big Ten gets the brunt of teams that are slipping. But the Gophers are in a tailspin, having lost 6 of 7 and having to deal with injuries and the ongoing investigation into sexual misconduct by starting center Reggie Lynch.
